What muscles does the elliptical machine work out?!

Question: Which leg muscles? Please elaborate. Thanks.

Answers: Which leg muscles? Please elaborate. Thanks.

It depends on a couple of things, which direction you are moving it, and what the incline on it is, how your form is, etc. With incline and a good pace and direction, along with changing those variables, it will work pretty much every muscle in your leg (such as quads, calves, hamstrings), as well as your lower back, and some chest and shoulders and triceps, if your are using the moving arm grips. It also will work some of your core. So pretty much most of your body if you do it right ; ).

I'd say it depends greatly on your machine and your form. For me, it works mostly my hamstrings and calves, but also my quads a little bit.

However, I don't really consider it a "muscle" workout. It's more of a cardio health/calorie burning exercise, like running. If you're looking to tone specific muscle groups, a weight program combined with the cardio workout would be a good option.
