Crunchy substitute?!

Question: I'm trying to lose weight because I have a wedding coming up in June. I am using exercise as my main focus to dropping the holiday weight, but I would also like to substitute foods to help shed the weight faster so I can go order my dress soon. I specificly am wanting to know of crunchy foods that are low in carbs. I am one of those people who when I eat I like to feel like im chewing something not just eating some yogurt of cottage cheese. In the past carrots have been pretty much my go to thing, but I would love to hear other ideas. Thanks in advance!

Cucumbers are a great substitute because they have a high water content, thus making it a low calorie food and it hydrates you. Also, it is crunchy and yummy. You could also try saltine crackers, carrot sticks, and one of my favorites... rice cakes. As weird as it sounds, they're very good. They come in flavors like cheddar and caramel, but you can get plain ones and put salsa or peanut butter on them to curb pizaa cravings and get antioxidants. Good luck, hun! <3

Goldfish crackers are really good! They're better for you because they're baked instead of fried. You can put them in salads and stuff like that. I eat them with peanut butter sandwiches. Haha :)

Celery, nuts (almonds, pecans), pork rinds, broccoli, cauliflower

For a snack--Ice lol as bad as that sounds, it is a crunch. You can make ice cubes out of crystal ice, so it has flavor and that way you aren't adding on any unnecessary calories.

If you're talking about actual meals, salads are always good, with veggies, cheese and some sort of meat.

Coshi Go Lean cereal (spelling?), or special K cereal is a good crunch

if you have a farmers market anywhere near you or a whole foods store try them.. they most often will have a variety of healthy yet tasteful snacks and foods (organic is great because it does not have all of the chemicals.

if not most larger grocery stores are now carrying a small selection.

some suggestions:
as you said carrots
celery with or without peanut butter
tortilla chips
broccoli or cauliflower
granola
trailmix
asparagus (if cooked right)

keep this in mind: almost everything you probably like to eat comes in a healthy alternative. dont be scared to get in the kitchen and experiment.
if you like pizza or pasta, make them at home with fresh ingredients like chicken, spinach, mushrooms, sauce, fresh veggies, etc.
you cut out a lot of the calories you would have in the restaurant or prepackaged grocery food by making it yourself. less salt, preservatives, sugar, etc.

you dont have to limit your carbs so much if you are active on a regular basis. the point in limiting carbs is when you are not so active and carbs burn cleaner in body than protein.
you can also try limiting your meat intake (this takes longer to digest) and eating more fruit, veggies, etc.

just dont go crazy on pasta and bread

pilates and yoga are excellent for slimming down and i just answered another question with these same things:

here are great ways to lose weight and get in shape, cheap too!!!:

sex--if you are active
hiking
nature trails
a walk around the neighborhood
sweeping instead of vacuuming
going up and down stairs
dancing around the house to music you enjoy
washing your car
skating
bowling
swimming
etc.

make it fun so that you will want to keep it up.
