Calorie Intake Question......?!

Question: I heard that in order to keep up my metabolism it is necessary to eat small meals/snacks throughout the day instead of loading up on calories 3x a day. Is this correct? Also - what calorie intake should I go for - 300 calories every 3 hours or what? Anybody know?

it is true that eating more meals over the day is better to speed it up as this forces the body to continously work on processing your intake.
as far as what calories you should consume that really depends on factors such as height , weight age sex and what acticities you undertake. the more active a person the more fuel required to keep you going. a top notch athlete can consume anywhere between 3000-5000 calories a day where as an average person may only need 1500-2000

so be mindful of that. i have some great little recipes http://myfitmate.blogspot.com/ you mite want to have a read f your looking at low calorie oprions

good luck

grazing, or eating many smaller meals kind of ends up happening out of necessity. see whole, healthy foods are filling because they have a lot of bulk, but they also digest very quickly. when you are eating healthy your meals wont stay with you very well, so you find yourself eating more often because you get hungry quickly. i think more than anything that is how this eating six smaller meals came about.

I have heard it is better to eat smaller meals more often. You still have to balance your caloric intake with your output. I would keep a log of exactly what you consume and how many calories you burn each day and get an idea of what your surplus might be.
