Excercize?....?!

Question: I dont have a ton of time because I have 2 small children, plus work full time until 6 in the evening. Is it ok if I excercize Sun, Mon, and Tues at the gym where I can do about 45 mins on the elliptical and then on Thursday again. I can't go to the gym Wed or Fri b/c my b/f goes to school. So will it still work if I dont go EVERYDAY?

PS...I also eat healthy....This is my 3rd week into the diet and have lost 5 lbs! ?

yeah, it's fine, you're not supposed to go every day. Muscles need rest like everything else. When you workout, your muscle tissue breaks down, and during the 48 hour rest period, they rebuild themselves. Try to add a bit of weight training/resistance training too, that helps burn fat (I'm assuming you're trying to burn body fat).

beware of the plateau effect though. At some point, you may stop losing weight before reaching your goal, but don't be discouraged, the plateau effect is usually the result of your muscles being bored. By mixing your exercises up, your muscles will be on their toes so to speak and they will continue to work.

ANY exercise is better than none, so yes, this is fine!!! It's more than what most people do.

the fact that you've lost weight answers your own question. it sounds like your going to the gym 4 days a week. That is fine.

I'll be the a**hole to point out you spelled exercise wrong.

3 times a week will definetly help!

That sounds great. It will still have a great impact even if you have to skip days. Keep it up!!

Yes, that's enough exercise to keep healthy.

Health experts recomment 3 30 min sets of exercise per week.

You're doing fine, as long as you increase the intensity of your exercises as you get fitter.

Congratulations! The least recommended is 3 times a week, for at least 20 minutes, so you are good.

Yes - any exercise can help as long as you are consistant and keep eating healthy. Keep going! Although...... your picture is making me want to have a cupcake with sprinkles and I am on a diet also!

You are doing pretty well. You can add some free weights to your days at home if you like. Some hand weights to work out with for 20-30 mins on your in-between days. Nothing heavy or expensive. It will augment your cardio workouts nicely. Use them while watching the news or Desperate Hoes.

Yes! Nobody says you have to work out every day! Any little bit that you can fit in is fantastic. Also, remember to put fitness into your everyday activities... take the stairs instead of the elevator, park further away at the store, take your kids to the park and play with them when the weather is nice. Get yourself some small hand weights and exercise while watching television. Any little bit helps, and there is nothing wrong with going just 3 days a week.

hey hope your feeling better and congratz on the 5 lb loss i would say yes thats fine mabee on wed and fri you could find some simple exercizes you can do at home if your on the eliptical at the gym working your legs etc. then mabee you can focus more on your core the days you at home and do some sit ups and crunches they dont take much time or space i even do them at home while my kids are running and crawling all over the floor with me hope this helps
