Fat burning has an equation, it's about a half-page long if you do it all, but here's the basics.

your body starts burning fat after 20min. of elevated heartrate.

The faster your heart is beating the more fuel (calories) you are consuming.

so it's basically like heartrate x (time+20), what I'm trying to say is the harder you run, combined with the longer you run the more you can burn. Personally that balance for me comes at 7.2mph (sustaining around 150-160bpm) for a continuous 5mph (around 40min.) but it will be different for you. I don't use ellipticals so I can't even tell you where to start, but it comes down to basic no pain no gain.

the harder you work the more you will acheive
good luck

It depends on how many calories you're taking in, and how quickly you want to lose weight. Try to shoot for at least 45 minutes, or work your way up.

I'd do an hour of eliptical. This is the best type of workout, because it works your whole body as if you were running, but with less stress on your joints.

the best way is to run !!!! run in the morning run at night run run run and u lose weight instantly also eat not more than 1700 calories

The key to weight loss first is Diet

Eat about 5-6 small meals a day. With each meal make sure ot have protein. Cut out all refined sugar!! This will help keep your metabolism revved all day.

Then for exercises you should do some cardio and some lifting. Make sure to do your lifting before your cardio to maximize your fat burning when you do cardio.

For weight loss have one principle in common: If calories burned are more / less than calories ingested, weight will be lost / gained. Physics can NOT be turned off.

That will help, but i dont think its enough to lose quite that much in 4 months time. You need to gradually work up to an hour on the eliptical, and give your body a rest one-two days a week.

to lose fat you have to do cardio 4-6 times a week for averge of 45min (30min is minimum and 60min is maximum- never go over 60)
you also have to do light weight training a few times a week.

D A N C EEEEEEE :)

Its important to do weight training as well as cardio. Get a free pass to a local gym like LA fitness, 24 hr fitness, or pure fitness and they will give you one free season to show you some good circuit weight training. If you don't want to do that do squats, lunges, calf raises, push ups, pull ups, and curls ever with 5 gallon jugs or weights. Add 30 mins of cardio a day with that and you will be on your way.
