Good Diet plan?!

Question: Hey im 13, and weigh 140, Im 5'8. I wanna lose weight so i can at least be able to sit in a kinda tight shirt and not worry about fat on my chest and stomach to stick out. I wanna be able to lose at least 10-20 and get down to around 125 by this summer, or until skinnier. Me and my friend are, starting tomorrow going to start running a lot (half a mile to a mile everyday) followed up by a few 1v1 full court basketball games, everyday. (Sometimes teams) but also I need to eat right so tell me if you think this is allright...I dont really have access to any vegetables at home besides broccoli, do think that would hurt?

Im planning this:

Breakfast: (Morning) A little Special K Cerial(sp) with a bit of normal milk. Maybe something on the side like an apple/orange.

Lunch : Either half a hamburger with small low-fat slushie. OR peanut Butter Sandwich with fruit.

Dinner: Ramen with juice, OR chicken soup with glass of juice. Maybe subway sandwich.

And I might also eat a little before be.

too little food and not healthy food!!!
special K is one of the worst cereals - Kashi are the best ones.
Hamburger is a poor choice and sushi- only if made with brown rice and no soy souce. bread - whole wheat. Ramen - belongs in garbage. Juice- eat your fruit and veggies - dont drink them.
You have to eat 5-6 small meals a day to lose weight.
find daily calorie intake calculator on the net, enter all your stats and it will tell you how many calories you need a day to maintain, take off 400-600cal off that number and thats how much you need to lose.
5-8 servings of fruit and veggies a day (have lots of veggies to eat in between meals if you are still hungry)
8 glasses of water -carry bottle of water with you and when you feel hungry drink it - we often confuse hunger with thirst (our bodies confuse it)
have complex carbs for breakfast - they give you energy
have protein (lean meat, legumes etc) for dinner - repairs muscle
cardio is the only fat burning exercise and burns fat all over your body (running, jogging, swimming, spinning, elliptical etc) 4-6 times a week for average of 45min, light weight training a few times a week (more muscle=faster metabolism)
dont consume foods that are made of white flour (white bread, cakes, pasta etc.), sugar loaded foods (cookies, ice cream, candy etc) and nothing fried, oily.
of course you can spoil yourself once in a while with a little treat:)
use fitday.com for tracking your intake

Looks like a good plan. Have you considered adding some snacks for in between meals? Be aware of the salt content in the Ramen noodles too. Its very high. Good lucK!

The most important thing is your will... If you really want to lose weight, the diet plan is no problem!

I would maybe adjust that a bit, I don't see any veggies and not enough protein. Also, it helps to have healthy snacks between meals, like if you're full after cereal, save the apple to have before lunch. Don't let yourself go hungry, that lowers your metabolism and only eat until you're satisfied, not stuffed. An omelet with veggies makes a fast protein full dinner. Maybe try a soup and add quinoa to it (tastes like rice in a soup sorta and has a higer protein content. A palmful of cashews is also good to have before a meal so that you don't overeat if you're really hungry.

I would suggest cut out junk food while dieting or limit to very little intake seeing as you are only 13 i would understand it would be hard to cut it completely which is understandable. I am currently dieting but I'm 23 so I decided to cut out junk food because in reality after you hit a certain age your metabolism isn't what it use to be. try to limit intake of sodas and sugary drinks. Drink lots of water. I have been exercising for 5 days now and dieting lost 4.2 pounds so far. The best thing I can suggest is to watch your calorie intake if you can and keep active. Hope that helps you.

Oh yeah I have heard not to eat after 7-8 pm close to when you go to bed because your food will not digest properly and you will gain weight from what ever you ate last.

well, i would definately check on the sodium content on these things because it makes you hold a lot of water.. try taking some vitamins such as vitamin c...and iron just in case you run into mal-nutrition... Oh, and cut out breads and drink LOTS of water and cranberry juice(i hate it so bad, but i still drink it) because it flushes out fatty acids and oils... I weigh 130 and its not easy to loose weight, especially when youre not equipped to do so... i need help.
