Is it true that as a person gets older, he/she loses the desire for sugary foods!

Question: I know I used to be a SWEET fanatic, but now I can't handle as much sugary foods like I used to. I still get a sweet tooth every now & then. I used to eat 5 king size candy bars in 1 sitting, & STILL stay skinny, but now I might eat 1 regular candy bar once every 2 months & feel like, "OK, I'm overdone! This is too much."

Do you think people are drilling it in my head about being cautious of the risk of diabetes, or is it that my taste buds are just changing? In general, kids LOVE sweets, but adults don't like them anymore. I'm 24 now.

Small children do have a naturel affinity for sugar, so in some ways i would say yes.

Children have far more simple tastes due to more limited experience with food. They also crave anything that gives them energy as their bodies are growing. I do think there is some basis in what you say.

But full grown adults also have a tendancy to enjoy more varieties of foods, meaning they don't always go for the quick fix of suger.

And hopefully we also gain enough wisdom not to just eat everthing we crave. Maturity helps here too.

i feel that way now

just changing

Not all old folks are created equal. Most I know love sweets even more now then when they were younger.

yes.. its true...
