Gluten Free Diet and Psoriasis?!

Question: Is anyone currently on a Gluten free diet? What would you recommend for someone thinking of switching to a Gluten free diet for Psoriasis? Are there products available to replace some of the things you will not be eating? I know I just peppered you with questions, but any info on Gluten free will be appreciated!

It is very possible for a gluten free diet to help psoriasis. Psoriasis can be a by product of either celiac disease or dermititis herpetiformis or just plain gluten intolerance. It is one means of your body expressing that it isn't getting all the nutrients it needs for one reason or another. You might want to see if your doctor will run blood tests for celiac disease or not.
I had psor. for a long time among other conditions and it did clear up when I went on a gluten free diet.
To start a gluten free diet, I recommend that you start with fruits and vegetables and non processed fresh meats. I also recommend trying a gluten free multivitamin and a combination omega 3-6-9 oil capsule everyday to kickstart absorption of good things. Stay away from soups, sauces and anything with multi ingredients until you know what has gluten and what doesn't. You will have to learn to read labels.
There is a substitute for almost anything made. Some taste better than others and some are personal preference. Whole Foods is a good starting point for shopping. The first time I went there, I asked at the front desk and they had a list of products at the help desk. There is online shopping that is pretty good too.
Good luck and I hope the gluten free approach works for you.
