I need to lose weight, but need some motivation. Can you help?!


Question: I joined on line weight watchers. I drink coffee with 2 splenda in it in the morning because it seems like the warm drink kills my appetite. I have started to walk 30 minutes every day with plans to increase it by 5 minute intervals until I get up to 1 hour over the next 8 weeks.
I keep a bowl of veggies in the fridge to munch on.
I stopped eating out, but yesterday my friend wanted to eat out and so I ate small portions at the Chinese place.
I quit drinking pop. I started watching portions and eating meatless spaghetti with mushrooms instead of all the cheese and sausage/hamburger meat. I only allow myself 1 cup of noodles and 1/2 cup of sauce. I eat mostly veggies and cut out the carbs. I steam my potato and broccoli instead of mash them in butter and sour cream. I only eat 8 grain bread or whole grains.
I had sex 2 times yesterday w/ the option to repeat today.
I started eating the vegetables w/ no dip or butter or cheese.
What else can I do? I need to lose about 60

it sounds to me like you are doing everything right. Just don't give up! Remember that it's ok to cheat every now and then, don't deprive yourself of something you love, but watch your portions. Stopping the soda pop is also excellent. Just give it time, don't give up, and remember that you are in it to look great & feel healthier. The older you get the harder it'll be to lose the weight so stick to your plan now.

Well at least you can certainly maintain your sex life.

exercise or have like sex 4times for 1 hour

You had sex 2x yesterday? That's great!
I suggest doing some exercises that get the legs moving, such as walking, jogging, running, swimming or bike riding.
These exercises that really get your heart pumping will burn the weight off quickly.

I like push ups, yoga stretches, pull ups, crunches, curl ups, leg stretches, calf raises, and squats as far as being good toning exercises that use no equipment and cost zero money to perform.

I like taking some dumbbells and doing some easy bicep curls, military presses, and lateral raises.

I think diet is important also and try to eat healthy home-cooked meals with lots of vegetables in them.

I try to stay away from the pop and sugar, candy, white flour products, and fast food.

I try to get a good night's sleep each night.

You can sit back and wait.
Drinking water is VERY IMPORTANT, btw.

Have you ever tried doing tae bo? It is a very upbeat exersize and really helps burns off calories. Also try doing several sit ups (work up to 50 at one time).

You are doing a lot of the right types of things. The key to really making progress is understanding how the math works out. Just because you are doing "the right things" doesn't mean you will lose that "60 pounds" Every supervised program you go to will take measurements, and prescribe measured calorie and excercise programs based on their initial findings. Losing weight is about losing calories, and the most important factor is exercise. That's why so many people that are overweight have such a hard time winning the battle. You can't be afraid to understand all the math, and you can't be afraid to do LOTS of exercise. If there was an easy solution there wouldn't be any fat people.

hi, well first of all u r doing great from what i just read on your question. u got the low carbs right so my answer to u is this, u need to cut out all the carbs in your diet so that way u will lose the weight & start to read on everything that u buy in the grocery store about how many sugars r in it & also how many carbs r in it per serving that way u will be able to lose more weight. get yourself a carb counting book & maybe u should try the south beach diet cuz it gives u more carbs per day to eat & is easier to follow for a diet & the results will be great especially because u r walking 30 minutes per day & adding 5 minutes extra a day. u will keep the weight off too by doing this cuz it will teach u how to eat food each day of your new lean life. good luck, nobrethequeen p.s. i did the atkins diet & now i'm better off because of it.

Put a photo of yourself on the refrigerator, go to the bookstore and buy a WW dining out guide book, get a new hobby like photography or making something like, say jewelry or crafts of some sort, look around the house and sell something on eBay, join a chat room on line or read a blog about "how to do" something you like, do a search for free tutorials about something you are interested in, tell your friends/other half to help you by taking your mind off eating with walks, phone chats from a room not near the kitchen, buy a case of small bottled water and add a sprinkle of splenda to it before drinking, you'll drink the whole thing everytime ... good luck

i have the PERFECT solution for you . Join a cardio kick-boxing class. My sister in law joined , and i ABSOLUTELY love it, i wish i had started 10 years ago. I have never felt better in my life. I will be honest - first couple weeks were a little rough. feel like someone beat the crap out of me ...with a bat !!! You are using muscles you probably have't used in years, or thought you didn't even have. They told me i would develope balance, muscle , a better awareness of my suroundings , and my #1 reason for going , to loose weight. I have been going for 3 mos. i try to go 2-3 times a week , each class is only 45-50 min. and it goes real quick. we met some real nice people , and all those things , i have achieved !!! and still going. I have went down one bra size , all my pants are loose in the thigh (still working on butt). i HAD to do something with myself. i gained quite a bit of weight after i had my 2 kids, and i couldn't stand to look at myself anymore.

i can only tell you how much i love it. you have to try for you. what's the worst that could happen, you take a few trial classes , and you hate it. But if you dont hate it , i promise you will be the best thing you EVER did .....let me know how you make out !!!

You MUST eat something heartier for breakfast!!!
Have a bigger lunch than you do an evening meal.
Snack every few hours.
DON'T use artificial sweeteners, or products with splenda or aspartame. You don't need to deal with chemical side effects. Just have sugar in much smaller amounts.
You need more exercise.
And sex is NOT better when you're thinner! lol
