Is jump roping good for cardio?!

Question: and if so, how much should I do each week?

Answers: and if so, how much should I do each week?

Jumping Rope - This is one of the simplest, yet most effective exercises one can do. In just 15 to 20 minutes, jumping rope will give you an unparalleled total body workout. Jumping rope is ideal for cardiovascular endurance and enhances performance in virtually any sport - tennis, basketball, football, skiing, volleyball and more. This simple exercise is also great for eye-hand coordination, lateral movement, foot and hand speed and agility.

Yes, 30-45 minutes 3x a week.

yeah.. boxers do it alot

Yes.

I was told to do 1000 jumps each morning.

Absolutely. It also works your calf muscles as well as your rotator cuff in your shoulders.

Yes, it's great for you!! Do it as long as you can (like 30 minutes if possible) 3 to 5 times a week.

Yes jumping rope is good for cardio, anything that get your heart rate up...I will do it about 3-4 times a week.

Definitely! It's one of the easiest-and most fun-ways to exercise. 3 times a week, 2 reps of 15 minutes each.

It is awesome for cardio!!! Just make sure you are doing it as hard as you can and at least breaking a sweat!

Yes. Depends, is jumping rope all your going to be doing? Listen to your body . . . generally 3 times a week for 30 minutes is recommended, (for exercise) but just jumping rope for that long could cause injury if your not already in shape.

here's a website i found that may help http://fitnessblackbook.com/workout-rout...

Jump rope is just as good as jogging. It gets the heart pumping which is what cardio exercise does. As for how much to do, it's really up to you.

You can do it 3 times a week, or you can combine it with different cardio workouts and do it once a week, e.g. 1. jumping rope 2. some aerobics workout 3. a ball sport

yeah its good but, avoid doing it on a hard surface because it wears out your knees especially if your overweight.

Yes, it's great! Try jumping 100 reps, give or take, depending on your own fitness level. Then do squats, lunges, abs...basically resting 30 seconds to a minute, then do another 100 reps. Try to do this for 30 mintues, it's tough!
