Excersise Trainer Wanted?!

Question: I need to know what i need to do to lose weight, I have been eating better, smaller meals about 5 times a day and better foods. no soda... more water. And I bought a tredmill, but how long do I walk for? this morning is my first day and I did 20 minutes, alternating with 2lb weights in my hands every 2 minutes. And i did work up a sweat. But is that enough?
i have a peronal work out bench with weights and stuff coming next friday, and I want to include that in my workout... but what kinds of things are the best? Also... do I eat before I work out or after... I am getting up earlier in the morning to do it.

It is good that you are waking up early to do this. You'll see better results. As for eating before a workout, you shouldn't eat enough to get you full, because your stomach will start to hurt really bad once you get at it on the treadmill. Just eat enough small meals during the day to fill you up and don't eat past 7:30. Drink an abundance of water, and when working out drink Powerade or Gatorade to keep the electrolytes replenished during your aerobic exercises. Don't do too much on the weight bench until you get to how you want to be on the treadmill first. I played football for 5 years and the first thing the coach said was to not use weights until you are happy with how your body is; weights are for toning & cardio is for losing fat. Also, since you are getting up early, do 20 or 30 situps before and after your treadmill "goings" and you'll see results in no time.

20-30 minutes on the treadmill is good. Personally I prefer the outside with fresh air but I understand the cold and weather can make that difficult.

On the bench...workout Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Lift light weights with a lot of reps (12-15) for lean toned muscle, lift heavier weights fewer times (6-8) for larger muscles.

Stick with the other things you're doing. Good luck

Sounds like you're off to a good start. Losing weight is a combination of a calorie deficit, insulin management, sufficient protein intake, proper hydration, hypertrophy training etc. I talk quite a bit about diet and fitness on my blog, you may want to check it out at http://fitnessratchet.com
