Why do poeple think WLS is an easy way out? A shortcut?!
Question: I had WLS in October and I have been more discriminated against for having the surgery than for being fat! It's like I can't win. I got made fun of being fat and now I'm made fun of for having surgery. I've lost 60 pounds in 10 weeks, I only need to lose 40 pounds more and I feel wonderful. But why do some people have to be so nasty about it? It's my life..I'm taking steps to be healthier. I've dieted for 20 years and decided it was time to do more for myself. I want to see my son graduated High school, get married and have children.
Can you please tell me why people think WLS is easy, a shortcut or cheating???

well it IS kinda the easy way out. Though I don't know much about complications or side-effects, as I'm sure there are some. So it's probably not actually as easy as most think. But I honestly think that the people hating on you for it are just ignorant and jealous. I think it's awesome to go through with something that major. If you are big enough then it's like a last resort move. Those people are just stupid.
Discriminated against? How would anyone know you had it if you didn't say something or show off your scar?
It is after all a personal decision that might be best kept to oneself.
