When watching my fat intake should I try to limit just saturated fat or all fat?!

Question: I know some vitamins are fat soluble and that monounsaturated fats are healthy, but sometimes the breakdown isn't too detailed. I try to limit myself to less than 20 grams of saturated fat per day. Is this reasonable?

Yes that is reasonable, good job. You are right about the vitamins, your body needs fat so it can perform alot of important functions. Saturated fats (animal fats) are the bad fats that increase cholesterol and promote heart disease. Unsaturated fats help protect against heart disease and also are less dense in energy than saturated fats. It is fine to consume moderate amounts of unsaturated fat.

You should focus mainly on saturated fats and trans-fats (found in many packaged foods) etc. But you don't have to eliminate all fats, because there are a lot of natural healthy fats in foods like nuts, olive oil, canola oil, fish, etc. I hope that helps :).

Don't try to cut out all fats......do watch saturated and take in as little as possible.....Fats from walnuts and almonds are Omega 3's......grab a hand full of those. Your body needs some fat in the diet to convert to simple sugars to run your brain and keep your sugar level in balance.

You, sadly, have it all wrong, as does the chap who answered first. Bodies need fat. What bodies don't need is processed foods, sugary stuff, chemicals, fake food.
