I'm sure you have friends who drink. Try to avoid hanging out with them when they are drinking. Being around others who drink will increase the temptation. Try to find other things to do instead of drinking, keep yourself busy. Watch a movie, clean the house, go on yahoo answers. Keeping yourself busy will keep you distracted and you won't think about drinking as much.

Keep lips closed.

You'll have to ditch your drinking buddies. Then don't drink any more.

it might suck but maybe think about getting professional help. Also avoid parties were there's going to be drinking. Hang out with sober people more. Replace you bad habit with a new health habit.

I know about this all to well. I drank regularly for about 8 years. It started when I worked in surgery as a way to relieve stress and relax. Well the next thing I knew I was drinking about 3 to 4 times a week. I would drink about 8 to 10 drinks a night, vodka or rum. I keep going back because I thought there was nothing else to do and I am single. I thought that maybe I would find a girl who was nice, fun and sweet that I could end up dating. Well nothing happened except that I spent a whole lot of money. I once went 3 weeks drinking every night. I added it all up. Say 8 drinks a night times 3 nights a week, at $4.00 a drink, times 52 weeks times 8 years. Well I spent 39,936 dollars in drinks over 8 years. That's more than some make in a year. That's a down payment on a house. That's a new car! Anyway. I think you should find what it is your trying to fill in your life with alcohol. All of us who drink that much are trying to fill something, some void in our life. For me, it was being alone and not having the love of a woman. Someone I could spend time with and do things with and for. For you it could be a number of reasons, only you know what that reason is. Once you figure that out try to think of other ways to deal with the problem. Take up exercise, instead of going out on Friday nights go work out at about 6 or so. Then go home shower and rent a movie and watch it. You could come home and play on the computer, go to a book store and look around. Get involved in a church. The thing is to keep your mind off drinking. Don't keep alcohol inside your home. If you want a drink then you can go to a bar or a club, but not any inside your home. Remember it's at lest twice as much to drink at a bar than it is at home. So chances are you wont drink as much and as often. You can even try AA if you feel you need a support network to help you. You could find a hobby something you think is interesting that you have always wanted to try, but never seemed to find the time for it. Then on Friday and Saturday nights to that. The thing to remember is you can live without alcohol and still have a really good life and have fun. Think of all the money you'll save as well. I mean in like 2 years the amount of money you will save could be enough for you to go on a trip or vacation you've always wanted to go on. I wish you the very best of luck. =)
