I guess that depends on your definition of "miracle." Yoga can certainly increase your flexibility and balance. It can also tone your muscles and help you lose weight. If you practice yoga regularly for a few months, you'll be amazed at your progress.

I usually do six yoga sessions a week and each session is about one hour long. You'll have to find the right schedule for you, though. Some people get bored and can only do yoga for 30 minutes, or only a couple times a week. That's fine.

The main thing is to be consistent and not rush yourself. Your goal should be to master each of the poses. Some will take a little work, others will take a lot of work. If you're just starting out, you might find some of the information on my blog helpful (http://yogarunner.blogspot.com/). There are links to pose sequences and information on how to perform the poses.
