as long as everything you eat is within this count you willbe able to lose weight at a rate of 1-2lbs per week. add an exercise plan & you may lose 1-3lbs per week.

Depending on what your weight is your calories should be no more than 1200-1500 per day. So you need to figure out how many calories each meal could be. But don't forget you should have a healthy snack inbetween meals. Like almonds, sugar free jello pudding or nonfat mild string cheese.

You should divide up your food intake into the three meals, with more calories consumed earlier in the day as you have more time to burn it off - try to eat a small light meal for tea and never eat after 7:30 (ish) as your body is relaxing and you won;t have time to burn off the calories before bed (depending on when you go to bed)!

If your a breakfast eater then that's really good. I think breakfast should be 600kcal.
Lunch: 500kcal
Dinner: 350kcal (eat dinner early, that would be better)
But it really depends on your height, weight, age and sexe.
And if you want to snack in between you should consume less than what I just wrote... Hope I helped

men 1800.ladies less ,go below what it says on packets,i lost 2 stone by going 150 under recommended calories intake.

I did 1000 calories a day. For 3 months. Since drinks were included in that total, I switched to water or diet soda. I made certain that I was full so I ate things like rice, potatoes and stuff that would fill me up, baked beans worked well. After a while my stomach shrunk and I became used to eating less. If I wanted something sweet, like a nice piece of chocolate cake, I just factored it in to the 1000 calorie allowance.

You need to tell us your sex, weight, normal activity level and how much you want to loose and how fast before an educated answer could be formulated.

A guess: Breakfast - 400
Lunch - 600
Dinner - 600
This would work pretty well for a young, active man. Subtract 200 for woman. Probably loose about a pound a week at least.
