What can I do to keep my mind off of food??!

Question: I am 70lbs overweight (And only 20 years old). OnWednesday I will be attending my first weight watcher meeting and couldnt be more excited.

I dont eat terribly during the week days. I cant snack, becuase Im at work most of the time! ...but at night and on the weekends its like I cant stay out of the kitchen! (Espically on weekends!) No matter how busy i seem to be! I'm a full time college student and I work full time at a childcare center. I have loads of homework/work for work that i could be doing. I'm constantly cleaning/doing homework/babysitting...but I manage to always be snacking!! I just feel like I want something...even if im not hungry! And I dont even know what it is that I want...and then I just kind of keep eating until I figure out what it was that I wanted.
I have to stop this.

Having will power and self control can play a big part in it. I've done really good all day - and now i just have to keep it up.
But I'm going to need help.

Change up your diet to help speed up you metabolism. Try to eat every 2-3 hours. For instance eat breakfast at 7am, snack at 9-10, lunch at 12-1, snack at 3-4, dinner at 6-7, then a snack again at 9-10. But you may skip the last snack if you go to bed around that time. Try to drink plenty of water between and during meals to help you keep that 'i feel full' feeling. If you drink pop, stop. But dont eat anything for at least 2 hours before bed, so that away your body can focus on metabolizing your fat into energy. Since you bearly have time to exercise you can do laundry, walk the dog, play with the kids, walk briskly between classes, sweep, do some jumping jacks while walking to the kitchen. Anything to speed up your heart rate and that will possibly make you sweat. Here is a sample meal plan.

7am breakfast
-cup of cereal (any kind)
-low fat milk/ soy milk
-an orange, or other type of fruit

9-10am snack
-1 granola bar (natural valley, south beach)
- 8-16 oz of water

12-1pm lunch
-turkey sandwitch w/ low fat dressing
-whole wheat bread
-a small salad (house or ceasar w/ low fat dressing) use minimal amount for taste
-water, crystal light (low sodium, low calories)
-a piece of fruit

3-4 snack
-a piece of fruit or granola bar

6-7 dinner
-chicken breast
-mixed veggies or any other type of veggie
-water, crystal light (low sodium, low calories)

9-10 snack (if applicable)
-a piece of fruit

just remember to drink plenty of water during and between meals. you can also drink tea w/ no sugar use splenda for taste. This will help to supress hungar and give you that full feeling. and during meals eat slowly and once you begin to feel full push the plate to the side and stop eating. just try to do some sort of physical activite through the day...walking, jumping jacks, laundry, etc.

you can also eat any type of fish, or white meat for lunch or dinner. Try to limit red meats. any fruit is good, and you can sub a yougert for the granola bar if you'd like...eating healthy is the basis for weight loss. The foods i have given you are low in calories. It may seem like your eating a lot, but your not, your spreading your meals out and eating smaller portions. you can even cut your sandwidch in half and eat half for lunch and the other for dinner if you would like. Also all the fruits and veggies will help cleanse your body, along with the water. your calories for this meal plan will end up being around the 1100-1500 range. Just count your calories for one day and do the math and see how many you are cutting.

Idk but for me i chew a lot of gum, or if i have to eat i eat carrots and celery and like healthy stuff, rather than crap. Try the gum tho, get long lasting flavor so u dont go threw it like that.

minty gum or warm water

In my experience, I feel deprived if i cant still eat something when im feeling a snack coming on!! Def, you need to eat at least 6 times a day.Breakfast,snack,lunch,snack,dinner,s... can easily incorporate that into weight watchers! that way you still have 3 snacks a day. There will also be some healthy snacks that are free to enjoy-sugar free jello is a good one-and also keep a big bottle of water with you all day to help keep you full! Good luck !!
