yes 1000 is great...especially from what you were having. just make it in about 4 meals a day, and your body won't store it all as fat, and you will feel great. you just made my day by showing progress

No thats fine for now :]
But gradually increase it.
And I think your period should jsut come back.

WELL DONE ON RECOVERING:]
Its such ahard thing to do

Good Luck Babes :]x

I'm glad you realize there is a problem, but please don't try to do this on your own. Get the support and advice of your parents and doctor. You need to be checked out to make sure that there is no permanent damage, and you absolutely must talk to someone. Good luck dear.

You should probably see a doctor. A doctor can accurately answer all these questions and any more you have. Also, a doctor can moderate your diet so that you are eating enough calories for your body to be healthy.

Good luck.

well,
it's not just the calories you eat but what you eat.
if you're gaining weight fast and you drink soda and things with fructose and things like that in it, you will gain weight a lot faster.
things like fruits and vegetables are good for you and your body burns it easily and they keep your weight pretty level.

your weight should actually be around 110 lbs or higher for a healthy weight.

You are 5'9" and you only weigh 100lbs? what are you trying to do starve to death? your only 17. No wonder you havent had a period in a long time You need to gain at least 10 lbs or so in my opinion. My 13 year old is 5'3" and she is about 115 lbs and she looks great. She's not fat by any means. Why do teens these days feel the need to starve? Its unhealthy and it creates so many heath problems in the future. Get yourself back on track girl.

You definitely want to start out slow since you've been starving yourself for so long. Eat soft foods and things that won't hurt your stomach. Never stuff yourself to the point of being overly full. Just take it easy.

It also wouldn't hurt to go see a nutritionist or doctor who can help you with your specific needs, especially since you haven't had your period in 8 months. They can do a lot for you.

And good for you! You'll do great.

That's fine, but make sure the foods you eat are of lean meats, fruits, veggies, low fat dairy, and whole grains because if you just pig out on fatty foods, you'll gain weight and it'll be all fat, not muscle. You might feel better about yourself if you eat healthily and do weight lifting, cardio, or pilates to tone your muscles. You'll be healthy, fit, AND slim. I hope you get well soon because I wish to recover from my anorexia as well.

Good luck hun! <3

You need professional guidance thru this effort. You've made a good start, but you need some lessons in what to focus your calories on. You need a balanced diet, not just calories.
Best of luck.

yikes ...

I'm 14, 5'9'', and 125lbs.
you gotta get to at least 115-120 to be relatively healthy.
I've been there, I was 5'9'' and 107lbs 6 months ago (eating about 700-1200 a day, and I bike rode about 3 hours a day)...

but keep going, you're doing great. And don't push yourself too hard to gain, because I found that I freaked out when I gained 5lbs in 2 weeks and went back to my old ways ....

goodluck....

stop worrying
stress can also make poeple gain weight
im 15 5'4 and i am an average teenager who weighs 102
once did get stress on my SATs and gained 10 pounds

It's recommended to eat 2000 calories a day, and you are much too skinny for your height. After you've been eating so little for a long time, the body has slowed down the combustion (is that the right word?), so it's normal to gain weight fast at first. You won't keep gaining two pounds each week, so don't worry. Just make sure you get all the vitamins your body needs.

As for your period - you probably have too little body fat for it to work. Gain weight, and eat a lot of food with iron in it - see this link http://www.weightlossforall.com/iron-ric...

You might have to get some iron pills from your doctor - it is unhealthy not to get your period, but normal when you're anorexic. If you eat healthily (and enough) you will get it back, but it might take a while - your body needs to get back in balance.

I know a girl that WAS anorexic and now she weighs only 89 lbs because she has had to have several surgerys for her pancreas. because of anorexia. She has a feeding tube put in.her stomach. A big mess . Please eat anything you can get your hands on or you could end up like this, a mess and hospitals every 2 months for 5 years like her.

I'm not really sure as for how many calories you should eat but here is an equation female: 655 + (4.3 x weight in lbs.) + (4.7 x height in inches) - (4.7 x age in years). Just plug the numbers in and it should give you a good answer. As for your period if your period does not come back very soon then you should tell your doctor. Good luck!!

That's a good idea for now. Two pounds a week isn't fast. For losing and gaining weight, that's a good healthy amount per week. But as you gain more, definitely start eating more. Always eat when you're hungry. But gaining more than 5 pounds a week is probably too fast.

Your period will come back when you gain more weight and get closer to your average body weight.

Congrats on recovering. It's a really good thing that you want to be gaining weight again. You should be shooting for anywhere from 135-155 or so, depending on your body structure. Remember that. You have a long way to go, so good luck!

contact me if u like, i personally think u need a friend to talk to and be supportive through this timexx have been there, had to look after myself with no help, this is not about food this is about 'stuff'. been through it would like to help u with honest advice. but for now believe in your capabilities as a person, only those that can believe in their positive side and trust in their own judgement for a moment will prevail in the struggles, that they face that ARE achieveable.

ps i am waif person, dont do calories despite my nursing training history! know what hope and perseverance and self belief can doxx trust your hopex and not the desire to please others please stay strong and talkx

Hi

Sorry to hear you had problems, but great to hear you are now on the road to recovery, well done.
Just to say you are doing the right thing starting to consume a low number of calories with a view to increase to at leat 1500 in a month or so and then 2000 in the next 3 to 4 months. The reason for loss of periods is because your body doesnt have the required nutrients nor the energy to let you have a period, you will also find that if you stay at sucha low weight for a prolonged time period, you may render your self unable to ever have a baby. Try fortifying your food, eg, add a bit of cream where you would use milk, use full fat milk instead of semi skimmed etc, you will notice your weight increasing and once it is at the required level you will notice your periods return to normal. You will be good to get yourself checked out and letting him know what the situation is and was. I hope you get better soon and keep trying, your doing well bird!!

are u sure ur not pregnant hun?????
Love Tinks xoxox

you're too thin

hey run it off if ur hungry then eat healthy ok

uhh, you need to be up around 145, no less than 130...
