Appropriate weight, inappropriate proportions?!

Question: I'm an 18 year old female, height 5 foot 2, and weight anywhere from 111 and 115. I know by all means that isn't excessively overweight, but my tummy is a little flabby for my taste haha. I eat pretty healthy as it is, drink about 1 can of pop a month if I'm daring. I know that sit-up and crunches aren't as effective as they're made out to be, and that sometimes they'll tone your muscles, but you can't really tell if there's a little extra fat covering the toned muscles. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might help me out? Thanks a lot!

cardio, pilates and yoga are great for all over.

cardio will help strengthen your heart, lungs, improve circulation as well as to help reduce body fat over time

pilates and yoga are both great for stretching, lengthening and sculpting the body.

it is never good to focus on just one body part so just find activities such as the ones i listed above or others that you would like to participate in:

hiking
bowling
skating
washing the car
sweeping instead of vacuuming
dancing around the house to your favorite music
etc.

anything that gets you moving and breaking a sweat is good. the best way to slim down is to eat healthy (you say you do), be active, get plenty of rest, and just plain enjoy life.

your tummy will slim down as will the rest of your body, just by being active and burning calories and energy. this reduces the fat your body holds.

you are right, crunches are not going to "fix" your abs by themselves. but building a healthy lifestyle will keep you in good shape, feeling good and also tone up your body and abs.

hope this helps,

:)
