Though, Strength training is a significant step in weight loss.. The more muscle you have the lower bfc you will have.. (Body Fat Composition) The lower the BFC the more efficient your body burns carbs before they're stored as fats... as well as burning fats already store..
Cardio is more significant than strength training,, but both together have a synergistic affect. The more strength training you do the more adequate your body will become for endurance training or cardio vascular excercise.
If you're already lean and do not want to burn muscle,, which cardio can do.. Then i would advise Interval training.. Ie.
Interval training is a method body builders use for burning fat while keeping their muscle
Interval training consists of going at a 70-80 percent lvl at any cardio excercise for a 30-60 second time period.. then dropping to a 35-40 % cardio lvl until your heart rate has recovered..

If you're over weight then regular cardio is in order. Don't start off too fast or long.. 20-30 minutes 3-4 times a week is in order.. If you're not at that level then work your way up to it gradually.

no - I think you need to to aerobic exercises also, and certainly change your diet.

No, you are just building more muscle, and the fat is still on top of it. Just run

It will help build muscle which burns some fat. Unless you plan on eating a super-strict diet, don't expect to see a dramatic body change. How about starting off with 20 minutes of cardio, 3 times a week? It won't be that bad.

Weights helps you build muscle to tone and burn energy while yr at rest.
A good diet high in protein and reasonable carbs and lots of veggies and water.
But sorry, you need to combine toning with cardio - if you want to burn stored fat then make sure your cardio rate only increases by around 60% (this amount will depend on yr weight and age).
When I did cardio I lot a lot of weight very easily and faster then I would have if I'd only done resistance training.
If you hate running, trying walking or swimming or the rowing machine.

Weight training may help a bit with shedding fat, but is not the way to go. If anything, it will add to your body mass by building more muscle to go along with your already-present fat content. You'll still be fat, but stronger.

Aerobic exercise - the actual fuel-burning process of your body - is what burns fat as fuel.

If you don't want to do cardio... stay overweight. That's the rules.

No doing weight training alone will not shed lots of fat. You need to do cardio first and foremost. You can do weights too, but cardio is what you really need to do. I know you dont like cardio, i dont either but you should start out easy and gradually build up endurance... and in due time it wont be so bad, you may even end up liking cardio.

On top of cardio I suggest doing body weight exercises in a circuit to really burn fat and tone your muscles. Do pullups, pushups, alternating lunges, and situps in that order. Do as many reps as you can for each exercise then move on to the next one without any rest inbetween. After you complete the sequence rest for 2-3 minutes then repeat the cycle 1-2 more times.
