how many hours a day?

It would take almost two hours on the treadmill in the cardio zone to burn 2,000 calories. The problem there is if you do more than 40 minutes of cardio at one time you'll start burning muscle instead of fat. Not good. You're better off walking -- it doesn't burn the calories as fast, but you can walk as much as you want without worrying about burning muscle. Walking also tones the legs and the rear end.

WARNING: You don't want to burn so many calories that you end up with a net intake of 0 calories per day. Your body needs at least 1,200 net calories a day to maintain itself. Anything less than that and your body goes into starvation mode. Your metabolism slows way down and your body greedily hangs on to every last bit of body fat that you have. It actually ends up being counterproductive. So don't kill yourself with exercise and don't starve yourself.

As much as you can cope with. Just find ways to enjoy it and flow with it. You can start with a few minutes and gradually build that up with time.
Make it fun anyway and anyhow.
Good luck!

Well, if you wanted to burn all the calories you have eaten in one day you would first decide how many calories you have eaten. You say 2000...then you have to subtract the number of calories your body uses naturally each day just to keep you alive...about 1200. Any excess calories are stored by your body to use later. So, for you to end the day without storing any calories you would need to do 800 calories worth of exercise each day. Walking at a moderate pace will burn around 200-300 calories per hour. The best way to burn calories is a spin class or weight training. These 2 exercises burn around 500-600 calories per hour. So, go for an hour walk on the tread mill then lift heavy weights for an hour. That should do it for your extra 800 calories.

Hello.
First of all you have to understand that 2000 calories is big amount of calories and in order to burn them you'll have to work very hard about 3 hours of cardiovascular exercises (bicycles , runs, etc..) and furthermore you'll have to drink water and water only because if you'll drink something sugared it will rise the amount of calories in your body and damaged your achievements in the workout.
Hope I've helped you

the best way is to wear a pedometer that lets you know how many calories your body has burned . Increase your daily cardio exercise , decrease your daily calorie intake and you will lose weight. you might be interested in this site.

Not the best way to approach weight control...

workout shouldn't be heavily based on time only.
What's more important is good form and repetition.

Also, it depends on how often you eat foods with about 2000 calories. One important statement to mention...
you won't lose "all" the food you ate from working out alone.
Your body will some, get rid of some, and store the rest for later use.
The food you eat will be broken down and processed by your body.
You have Protein, Fat, Sat. Fat, Carbs, Minerals, Calories, Calories from Fat, sugars (glucose, high fructose corn syrup, etc.)

how many calories from fat...is also a big factor.

Weight maintenance and weight loss is a simple formula...calories in <= calories burned. The trick is determining those two variables: your current metobolic rate and calorie intake.

You can go to this site and calculate how many calories your body burns per day.

Then you need to calculate how many calories you are consuming:

A general rule of thumb is that you need to eat 500 calories less than your daily calorie needs if you want to burn off excess body fat.
