Why does my face get so red when I workout and other people's don't?!

Question: Okay, okay...I've done some reading on Y! Answers and realize this has been asked before. But, I'm more curious as to WHY most people's faces don't if it's so "natural." When I workout (BTW, I'm in shape, not overweight, have a healthy heart, and normal bp) my face doesn't just "flush" it's beet red (almost purple) and stays that way for at least an hour after I workout. It's embarassing bc people think I'm verging on a heart attack. Well, this weekend I took an exercise class with over 60 people in the room and I stood out in the mirrors...why? BC MY FACE WAS PURPLE 20 MINUTES IN! How is my body functioning so differently than everyone else's? I sweat a normal amount too. Everyone else had a nice flushed, dewy glow...I look like I had fallen asleep in the sun! So, yeah...if it's so normal why wouldn't most people be like this?
It's been like this forever...when I was in hs track I was the red-faced girl, when I run 5Ks people ask me if I need assistance afterwards...it's embarrasing

It's called "facial flushing". Do you sweat excessively too? The too conditions are related but not don't always appear together. Basically your sympathetic nervous system, which controls automatic behaviors like sweating and blushing, gets overstimulated. Your face gets red because your body is trying to cool off by bringing warm blood to the surface of the skin.

You may not be breathing enough, try practicing deep breathing. If it really bothers you, there are some medications available, but it's really not harmful.

ya what he said!

My face does that to me too.
But you should slap on a COLD towel immediately after (that helps) and try breathing steadily while you exercise to make sure you don't overheat.
But this isn't all bad - it's supposed to show that you have good circulation or something like that.

There are worst things you could have, so dont fret.

Its heart pumping more (guessing), mine does as well, Mine neck and upper chest go all red too, I mean red red.
