How can I stay fit and still work 40 hours a week?!

Question: Could I work out in the evening?
Should this be before dinner or after, and is there any suggested workout schedule for a beginner?

I'm in the same place, but I've found time after work, screw getting up early. I go home and eat a late lunch around 5 and then get to the gym by 7 and spend a few hours there, and I eat a small dinner when I get home. The body absorbs nutrients into the muscles after a workout, so it's good to eat afterwards, even though this is fairly late for me.

We are working out after dinner ( for energy - ask trainer) three nights a week. We tried in the mornings, but can't get up. :)

Fitness is a combination of healthy eating combined with the proper exercise routine. I have found the following site extremely helpful in my quest to get fit and maintain it:

There are tons of tips to not only help you lose the weight... but more importantly, keep it off and maintain your ideal weight. It has worked for me fabulously!

I work 40 hours each week also. 8.00-5.00 & do the following:

tues - body pump class in the evening
wed - body attack class in the evening
fri -body combat class in the evening
sat - body pump & body attack classes in the morning
sun - body pump & body combat classes in the morning

I personally found from working 40 hours a week that I lost weight. Because I did not snack as much during the day and I was on my feet all day. But if you are wanting to get fit or stay fit you could either work out before work (depending how early you have to go in). This will energize you and jump start your day. You could also work out in the evening if you prefer but such activity could make it harder for you to sleep. Since you are working 40 hours a week the sleep will more than likely benefit you because it is a necessity and can help keep your stress down.

Like everyone else, I can't get up in the morning, but since I'm a single mom, evening's not good for me either, so I work out at lunch time. I chose a gym close to my work instead of close to my house and I can get there, have a half-hour session with a trainer, and get back to work in an hour. On days that I don't work out with a trainer (I train 2x per week) I either use the cardio equipment at the gym, or if the weather is nice, I walk around the neighborhood. I've been doing this for 5 years now and it works great for me! (I lost 50 pounds in about 18 months, and have kept it off.) Plus, I've recruited lots of my coworkers to also work out at lunch time - we hold each other accountable and it's fun!

Before you eat dinner walk or do your work out and then eat.
