How can I cut down on what I eat?!


Question: The best way? Keep a journal of EVERYTHING you eat and drink for a week. Had a single bite of cake? Write it down. A giant apple? Write it down. Whatever it is, a couple of beers, 8 diet Pepsi's...
After a week, you will be able to look at what you're eating and what you can make a conscious effort to cut out of your diet. So many of us just put food in our mouths without thinking about it. Carry the notebook with you or you'll forget what you had at 3pm.

Hope it works for you - it was the ONLY way I could really figure out what I was eating and what I could cut out. Just drink plenty of water and talk to your doc before you start a weight loss program.

One big way is to use smaller size plates which give smaller portions. you would be amazed at how much you don't eat. do not go for seconds either. also eat more slowly. you will feel full quicker. hope this helps.

Drink more water throughout the day. Thats a HUGE part of why Weight Watchers works. If your stomach is filled with water, there isnt much room for food.

drink water because it will make you feel fuller. also eat more slowly so your body can produce leptin to make you feel full. if you spread small meals throughout the day instead of eating 3 large meals, you will eat less because people tend to binge (overcompensate) when really hungry.

smaller portion is the best. your suppose to eat about 6 meals a day!! the correct portion would be th size of your palm. also for snaks eat somethig with a low glycemic index (good carbs) like almonds!! good luck.

Drink plenty of water.

Chew gum and suck on candy. This will keep your mouth occupied. Also eat things that are more filling when you eat, such as oatmeal or toast. You will eat less.

I say drink more water. and eat fruit with your meals. Take one of the bread or pasta items off your plate when you eat .

i find that chewing sugar free gum occasionally helps :) *not too often though- it can be a lax or give stomach cramps

do something that will keep you busy around the house- read, paint nails, tidy up, etc

if you do have the urge to munch, have as many cherry tomatoes/cucumber/pepper pieces as it takes :) this always helps me to feel better if i do have to compulsively eat
