Lots of exercising no weight loss??!

Question: I have been exercising consistently for 4 weeks and I have only lost 2lbs. I exercise on an elliptical machine and I burn between 1000 - 2000 calories per day with one day off per week. I have made minor changes in my eating habits but nothing major as I have a difficult time trying to get the hang of both (it will come though!)
Does anyone know why I have such a minimal amount of weight loss after exercising so much??

You are burning more calories than you are taking in most probably. Your body will hold onto your fat because it thinks its in the starvation mode.

In order for your body to give up fat, you have to eat small meals throughout the day so your body won't think that you are starving it.

You are also building muscles when you work out so much. Muscles weight must more than fat.

Drink plenty of water too. This helps flush the toxins from your body. Fat cells surround toxins so when you get rid of the toxins, you lose the fat.

Women tend to lose weight in terms of inches. Don't go by your weight per sae. Measure yourself instead.

Health cleanses are a wonderful way to lose weight fast, if you are over 18+ years old.

Read about them on the referring page below.

Hope this helps!

you are probably putting on muscle.. it weighs more then fat. i think how your clothes fit is a better way to judge progress then by the number on the scale

Fresh fruit and whole gain breads will help you feel full longer. Forget the "all carbs are bad" idea, just lay off white bread/rolls, white rice and non-whole grain pasta. One thing that will help you lose weight is SNACKS! Yes, a piece of fruit or a (low sugar) yogurt or (low sugar) granola type bar mid morning and afternoon will help you not munch on chips and stuff. Don't skip breakfast.
Increasing your water consumption would be good. Go for lean meats and remember that according to the dietitians a "serving" of meat is 4 ounces... about the side of a normal deck of playing cards. So watch your portions and fill up on fruits and vegetables.
