You kind find calorie indexes online. My general rules: fruits 60 a serving, veggies 30-50 a serving, starches 70-100 a serving, meats 70-125 a serving, dairy 70-125 a serving, fats really depend and I limit unhealthy fats as much as possible.
Fats tend to run the 100 plus per serving especially the unhealthy ones. These are my general guidelines but if I have a label, I read it.

i swear by it. type in anything and everything and they got it! they even break it down into percentages and give workouts for every food. for example i typed in food for panera bread today and i got everything i was looking for. good luck!

Unpacked foods can be traced down several ways. Some cook books have sections giving the caloric value of hundreds of foods, even thousands.Almost all book stores carry a variety if books with caloric values. The web has all kind of sites. And when given the caloric value in virtually all those sources you will find all the nutritional values as well. Calories, sodium content fat content,etc.,etc.

my-calorie-counter.com absolutley an amazing site...good luck!!!
