I think it's all a matter of preference. I don't think our bodies breakdown the skin and it pretty much passes through us as fiber. I find that it gets stuck in my teeth and it's annoying, but I do like the flavor of an apple with the skin on. Up to you.

The skin on any fruit has lots of nutrients and vitamines, I would suggest that you leave the skin on, but wash the apple well first as most supermarkets wax their fruits to make them appear shiny and better looking.
