Question: should I eat less snacks through the day??

Answers: should I eat less snacks through the day??

Yes and no. Great answer, right? Here's how it works: If you eat bad-for-you stuff when you snack, or if your snacks added to your meals equal more calories than you need in a day, that's a problem. However, if you eat smaller portions more often throughout the day, you're actually giving your metabolism a boost. Your body has to expend calories to generate the energy to digest food, so eating more often CAN help you lose weight. Here's the problem: Your body is very efficient at using the food you put in it for the energy you need to get through your day, so if you eat too much at one sitting your body stores the extra calories it doesn't need as fat. On the flipside, if you go too long between meals or snacks, your metabolism slows down. That's why they recommend eating five to six small meals or snacks per day instead of three squares per day or one big meal per day.

Yes, of course you should eat less snacks if you need to lose weight.

If you do want to nibble on something then get some fruit.

Some schools of thought say yes, but what I've heard is that snacking throughout the day, rather than gorging on large meals only three times a day, is key to weight loss. The trick is to snack healthy - vegetables, fruits, and the like. I know that celery and carrots are good for filling you up and high in fiber, and I'm sure you can come up with some other ideas more appealing to you. Just watch your overall calorie count.

Actually snacking throughout the day is healthy, more than 3 meals a day. The best would be about 7 small meals a day... but who has time for that ? Make sure the snacks are nuts, veggies (like carrots), fruits, etc... lots of water.

it depends on the snacks you are eating, its good to eat fruit and and on veg, just cut out on sweet snacks.
