Whats a good walking plan for me?!

Question: Im 16 years old 250+ pounds. And its winter, and im trapped inside my house doing nothing. Im so motivated to do something about it, but I cant because theres either too much or its too cold. I started walking last fall and then the weather got crappy. I think I lost some weight from walking though. Should I walk 30 minutes or an hour? Im thinking about having my parents buy me a treadmill or something.

Should I take breaks? Like Fast walk for 10 minutes and then take a 5 minute break? Or what? Im not that obease. I have "BIG BONES" and i have alot of muscle. I also have dumbbells ive been using on my arms.

unless you are over 6' tall, you need to drop alot of weight.. my personal opinion on manual treadmills are that they are junk. try to get out and continue your 30 minute walks. bundle up and bring an ipod. i still manage to go out and jog at least once a week as long as the snow isnt too bad. the cold air is not a good excuse. as for your walking pace, you do not take breaks. walk a fast pace to get your heartrate and breathing rate up. you should be breathing heavy but not to the point where you are out of breath. if you feel you must take a break, slow your pace but no stopping. you want to keep moving. slow the pace for a couple minutes to recover then pick it back up again. every time you walk, try to keep up the quick pace with less slow time each walking session. soon enough, you will be able to keep the quick pace the entire time. doesnt your school have a gym? most do and it is available after school hours for your use. you can go to the local mall and walk the mall if the weather is too bad.
