I have a little layer of fat covering my abs.. how can i lose it?!

Question: I have a little layer of fat covering my abs and i was wondering what is the fastest way to lose it? Like what kind of excercises should i do to get ripped abs and should i follow a specific diet?
I'm 16, lean, weigh 140 and im 5'11 or at the most 6 foot tall. Should i do a lot of running or is there also an alternative? And should i work out my abs everyday? I really need help on this since im already trying to prepared for the summer...

Guys generally have it easier than girls when it comes to losing weight and gaining muscle. I don't think you need to be on a strict diet, but you should watch what you eat; cut back on sugary drinks and junk food. Drink lots of water throughout the day and eat many small meals, not 3 large ones.
Doing simple ab work outs will make your abs STRONGER and slightly more defined, but they will become naturally visible and appear "ripped" if you work out your body as a whole. As much as you don't want to, running will help you lose that little fat covering your abs. It doesn't hurt to have toned legs either. Good luck!

cut out sugar or any sugary drinks

And cut out all grains (wheat, rice, corn) as well as the sugar and you'll be golden!

Do simple ab workouts routinly and eat a larger amount of protein if your looking for the 6 pack. Protein builds muscles (Dont use pills that messes up your body). Working out more wont nescisarily make your abs bigger if you don't have the right diet.

Hope that helps

AVOID HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP [ HFCS ] \

Is everyone aware of the really bad ingredient in food?

Well the bad ingredient is called: High Fructose Corn Syrup [ HFCS ]

Some of you may know fructose is the good sugar in fruit, well High Fructose Corn Syrup is not a good sugar and has no amount of fructose. Corn syrup is okay, but not High Fructose Corn Syrup [from corn]. HFCS is a man made ingredient and is not from corn at all.

Why this ingredient is bad:

Blocks your arteries

Raises Blood Sugar / Pressure [ thats' not good, unless instructed by a doctor ]

Stays in your body for a long time

Creates sugar blood slash blood fat

There is no good / positive side to this ingredient

You might get Diabities type 2

Makes your body have to work harder to lose wieght / you lose wieght slowerer

Why ppl put this in food:

To make money

They really do not care about your health, face the facts

They cannot be unaware because if they did not know what the indgredient was, why would they put

that in thier food they made in the first place?

You know the softness in a donut? Yeah well that's the f@t... why do you think vegtables are so hard? How else would strong thin ppl have hard abs

Go check your bread in your pantry betcha you guys have that in your pantry. HFCS will usually be in all upper case letters and under the ingredients column and say : "HIGH FRUCTOSE CORN SYRUP"

this is perfect, ur just like me, i weigh 143, and im 6'1'' except im 14, and i swim so ive got prettty good abs. if ur concerned about the fat that is on ur lower set of abs, then u might want to run every day about 5 miles or so, this will disintegrate the fat really quickly. u might also want to swim just a little to get ur abs toned if u have a small layer of fat all over your abs. wats also important is that u keep doing these exercises constantly even if its twice a week, because if not you will start to become out of shape. hope this helped out

the layer of fat is undoubtedly in response to toxins that we are all exposed to on a daily basis. The body protects itself from toxins by retaining fat and fluid to dilute the toxins. Do a nutritional cleanse and it will help your body rid itself of the toxins and then the excess fat will be shed quickly and naturally.

stop eating foods high in fat. also, u can do crunches every day. you'll be sore, but it will pay off. u can also do other exercises too. running, jogging, sit ups, push ups, etc. the fat will come off in the end.

dont cut out grains thats stupid. if its really only a small layer of fat then doing cardio (running is best..30 minutes minimum) FOLLOWED by an ab work out then youll probably see the best results. its not so much about what you eat when it comes to such specific target areas, but rather how you work it out. the cardio simply helps prep your body for the workout that follows. doing training with out cardio usually doenst work as quickly or as effectively.
if its more than just a thin laywer of fat, then a diet will more likely be necessary.
good luck!

ABS everyday and good diet...You need those crunches, sit ups...etc.....to get ripped..I do roman chair sit ups..and the one where you hang upside down and crunch upward........everybody in the gym always starts looking and going wow....that looks painful..lol. The roman chair works great for me and I can do them with ease now..but it took awhile to get there......

Running helps a lot. Yoga helps too.

Every day in dance I do about 130 crunches (or 16 sets of 8). This has helped me a lot. I do them with my arms behind my head and my elbows out to the side. Then do your crunches- make sure your shoulder blades are getting off the floor and your abs are doing the work, not your arms. There are many different variations of crunches you can do. You can do traditional ones, ones with your legs to either side of you (this gets your side), ones where one foot is on top of the opposite knee, crunches in butterfly, and crunches with our legs almost straight. We usually do 4 variations and 32-40 of each variation each day.

After that we do that we lay on our backs with our legs up and bent at a right angle. Then lower your right foot to the floor and bring it back up to the starting position, making sure your leg always stays at a right angle. Then repeat with your left for one rep. Do 8 reps.
Next, do the same motion but with both legs going at the same time. Do 8 reps.
Then, beginning in the same position as the other 2. Take your right leg and straighten it so it is about 2 inches off the floor--foot flexed. Then bring it back to the starting position and repeat with your left leg for 1 rep. Do 8 reps.
For a real challenge try the last one with both legs!
