Yes.
Skipping is no longer confined to the school playground. Boxers use skipping as training before a fight and it is now incorporated into many gym classes. An excellent way to keep fit, skipping can be done anywhere, anytime.
As a high-impact exercise skipping is great for building bones and a good exercise to trim hips, thighs and backsides!
You'll burn between 70-110 extra calories* in a ten minute session. 10min Skipping:
* Moderate, 70kcal
* Vigorous, 110kcal
It would burn fat but it's much more likely to tone muscle than it is to build muscle mass. Any exercise that includes low resistance and a lot of reps, like jumping rope, will tone muscle. Exercises with a lot of resistance and fewer reps build muscle mass.
yes it will burn fat if you sweat so that's how u no if you are burning fat and you are using your leg muscles to lift your body weight off of the ground u also exercise your brain by trying to determine when to jump
it burns fat, builds endurance and tones the body.
jumping rope for about 20 minutes a day is all you need it will add up to if you were to jog or brisk walk for 30 minutes, it is good for a whole body workout especially in your legs. and will definately give you muscle defination along with weight lifting. it is definately a great choice for a cardio!!!
