Shame on you! (Just kidding)

I actually just had this conversation last night with my boyfriend - I am a cardio nut, and he is a lifter - I had to explain that cardio builds up your body's endurance, plus, is good for you heart and all your systems. Another thing to keep in mind is that, if you are a lifter - you probably consume a WHOLE LOT of calories to keep those muscles growing. Cardio will trim off any unused calories to keep them from turning into cuddly-wuddly love handles. The endurance you gain from cardio will actually help you in your lifting, and improve your breath and muscle CONTROL, which is just as important as strength. You need at least 30 min. of cardio 3x a week.

Hope I helped. :-)

It depends on the person. the most important muscle in the body is the heart and cardio is the only thing that will make is stronger. 2 hours a day is over doing it with the weights. At my peak of competeing it was 50 mints to 1:15 min of weights and 30 to 45 min of cardio 4 days a week. Drop some of the over training and hit the tread mill.

Yes, cardio has great heart benifits. Weight training works muscles only, which is good but all about balance. Do 1-112 hr weight and 30 min cardio. or do interval training, where you combine and alternate cardio /weights
