Is it a bad idea to lift a bunch of heavy weights after an iv?!

Question: I;m sure it is.. once you;ve taken an iv the vein is fragile at the point of entry.. all the stress, strain and gushing of blood when you lift weight could dislodge the clot from the point and start bleeding again!

Yes. When you give blood, for instance, they tell you no heavy lifting for 24 hours. The site of the IV may start to bleed again if put under pressure, including the increased blood pressure that goes with lifting heavy weights.

I can't imagine why... Actually the extra fluids will produce a better workout.. Lubricates joints and the extra fluid will help fatigue. Go get um killer!

He didn't say he gave blood. He said he got an IV.. Top Contributer of what?

same answer as the number one answerer... wait about 24-48 hours to lift heavily... it'll be better in the long run sweetie
