I'm 5'3" and 175lbs am I overweight???!

Question: Maybe a little pudgy but keep this in mind: There are people out there who would do anything to be as small as you. Some people are so fat there is no question in their mind. If you're happy with yourself and it is not causing you problems, don't stress. You are fine.

I use the adult version of Spark teens, Spark People and I tell you it's very very useful. It's also free! Even if you don't need to lose weight (that's up to you) it's a good means to track your nutrition which EVERYONE should do. Report It

  • yes

    yep. unless your a body builder. just eat better and exercise. everyone can turn things around. good luck!

    according to the dr. chart, yes

    yes you are.

    im 5'6 and 120 pounds and my doctor said i am in the healthy weight range.

    No one can really answer this question because we don't know certain facts.
    I recommend going to www.sparkteens.com. Then you can caluclate your BMI and find out if you're over weight or not. If you are, they give you excersizes and ways to eat healthy.

    Good luck!

    Yes unfortunately. Your BMI is 31. See below:

    BMI Categories:

    Underweight = <18.5
    Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
    Overweight = 25-29.9
    Obesity = BMI of 30 or greater

    I checked your BMI (Body Mass Index) in a BMI calculator and it says that you are slightly overweight. 167 lbs is considered overweight for your height.

    Your BMI is 31, which classifies you as not overweight, but obese. Unless you have a freakish amount of muscle mass (like a pro bodybuilder) you need to lose quite a bit. Good luck!

    i think it all depends on the type of body you are i mean how do you feel do you think you are overweight? do you feel conftherble with your body if not then its telling you some thing and you should do some thing obout it. thats what i think

    no well not to me................ well for the hight you are your over you weight.............. but im 5'10 and 181pounds im consider fat for my size. it all depends on the place where all the weight is... but sweetie don't worry about it your not. like i tell my girlfriend because she is 5'3 too if you was an inch taller you wouldn't be so down on your self.

    its not baout how much you weigh its about how you carry your weight and what you look like some people can weigh 150 and look huge and some can way 150 and look thin

    You can find out by calculating your Body Mass Index. You can get to the National Institutes of Health's chart here:

    http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/guidelines/obes...

    Whether or not you are overweight, according to the chart, not only has to do with height and weight, but age as well.

    It does sound like that.. But there are a lot of things you can do to fix that.. Start exercising.. around 30 minutes 5 to 7 days a week.. and eat healthy.... Drink Lots of water..

    A little. But it depends on your body shape too. Im 5'4 and about that weight, but its all in my chest so i dont look heavy. But you can always get to your ideal weight with exercise and eating right.

    Of course you should try to stay healthy and active, but it doesnt matter what some stupid chart says. if you feel like you're overweight, then change it. if you feel good about yourself and dont have any health problems, i wouldnt worry about the charts and figures. As long as you're in good health and not fillng your body with fatty foods.

    Good Luck!

    Yes. A 5'5" person should only weigh 135lbs, so a 5'3" person should weigh less than that....

    According to the BMI you're considered obese; I would ignore the BMI though because it does not take into account muscle verses fat. A much better means of measuring one's self is to get a fat percentage done. No matter your BMI though you should eat a heathly diet and try to be active.

    yes. you should only be between 115 and 130
