I'm looking for healthy "quick" meals?!


Question: My fiance has been trying to lose weight for a while. His whole side of the family is over weight. We both work crazy hours so it's kinda hard for me to cook something good every night cause usually he's not here to eat it. I was gonna get him some of those Lean Pocket things... BUT they have 500 mg and more of sodium. Which is very very bad for you.

I'm very thin and would actually like to GAIN weight, but can't seem to no matter how much of what I eat. So regardless of my weight, I guess I should start eating a little healthier also.

My fiance's problem is that none of that diet food is filling enough for him. He tried having Slim Fast for breakfast and lunch and then eating a good dinner.. But he said he was starving the whole time.

We're both 22 years old.. He's 5'8 and 250lbs and I'm 5'8 and 107lbs.

What should we do?

My observation is that the best meals for you are those that consist of simple ingredients and are quickly prepared. Avoid processed food---too many empty calories, sodium, fat, and preservatives. Purchase fresh meats and veggies, preferably organic. If you have a grill, it is even easier---fewer pans to wash!

Seasoned grilled meats are always good, and when I was working strange hours, I would try to make meals that were one-dish wonders. Try grilling steak, chicken or fish and slice it thin over a salad or cooked veggies. Give him lots of meat--it will help him to lose weight. A little vinegarette over all is delicious and can be served hot or at room temp. I never got to take much of a meal break, so I was grateful to have something prepared that I could just open and eat. Include a multi vitamin daily.

Slim Fast is an OK product, but liquids do not give your gut much to work on and it feels empty after a very short time. Drink up to 2 quarts of water per day, but try not to drink much with meals.

to get started no soda drink a gallon of water a day spring or distill no tap water!! or crystal light for your meals.

Breakfast eat 3 egg whites or oatmeal and a fruit.

Lunch eat a grilled chicken breast vegetables with light oil 1 teaspoon and a fruit.

Dinner eat a tuna or chicken salad / grilled or broil chicken breast with Mrs. Dash on it and a small cut of vegetables and a fruit.

no eating after 7pm !!

do 250 sit-ups in the morning and 250 sit-ups before bed.
Do leg squats against the wall 3 sets of 20 once every other day.

Walk for 30 minutes twice a day or jog in the house for 30 minutes if the weather is bad out.
Ride a treadmill for 20-30 minutes a day and that should do it. Make sure you do this through out the day not all at once.


Try this for 8 weeks and see the difference only if you really want to loose weight.

You could make something that can be reheated (Tacos, sloppy joes...) that you can grab a little bit out of the fridge, pop it in the microwave, and eat it and go!!
