Good target weight?!


Question: Well, I managed to get the weight off, and keep it off. I have about 5 lbs. more to go, and then just maintenance. Whoo!!

My question is this: at 5'8", with quite a bit of muscle mass, should I shoot for 135 or 130. I am 140 now, and wear pants size 6.

the bmi is not for us people with muscles
and 140 seems like a perfect weight

140 and a size 6 already sounds perfect to me. Do you really need to lose more? I wouldn't go lower than 135.

Seriously 140 is good, I would just maintain where you are at, I am sure you look beautiful as you are right now. I wouldn't kill your self over the next 5 lbs.

I am 5'3 1/2 and I weight 147 and I wear a size 6 and I couldn't imagine being any smaller!!!

I would say that you are already in the maintenance mode. At a size 6, and having quite a bit of muscle mass I would stay at 140. A female friend of mine is 5' 5" and because of her build and muscle mass she can not drop below 160 lbs without danger to her health.

First, congratulations on your weight loss. You said, "quite a bit of muscle mass" so I imagine you did it the right way. Way to go! I think it's time for you to throw away the charts and look at and listen to your body. How do you look when you view yourself in the mirror? Do you still see some fat that needs to go? How do you feel? Settle at weight where you feel strong and healthy. Finally, ask some others you trust. Often, when we drop a lot of weight, we tend to get a bit obsessed and never get satisfied.
