Do mirrors in the dressing room at the gym make you look heavier?!

Question: I'm asking as a serious question because I am not overweight but as I pass by the mirror in the gym I always turn away. My body looks so lumpy and shapeless. At home in the mirror, I feel curvy, hourglass- like, and am not disgusted when I see myself.

So I'm just wondering if anyone knows if gyms do this on purpose somehow to keep you coming back and renewing your membership?

Gym mirrors are mounted so they are tilted very slightly downward, so you look a little heavier than you are. Clothing store mirrors are tilted slightly upward so you look slimmer.

I remounted all the mirrors in my house so they are like store mirrors so my wife would quit asking me if she is fat. it worked. When I'm mad at her, or sometimes just for fun, I change them so they're like gym mirrors.
