Just bought an exercise bike, can it help me lose in my mid-section?!

Question: I'm pretty happy with my body BUT I've got a bit of a tummy (not quite sure how this happened, one too many bowls of pasta I guess). Regardless, If I diet I lose weight in all the wrong places, my face, my butt so I'm bascially using this for cardio to tone my legs and hopefully what is now my "gut"!. At 30 minutes per day and cutting out the junk food, well cutting down on it, do you think it will help. I have a pretty good metabolism.

any fat loss will help your gut. I'm the same way, I lose fat everywhere else, but where I want it lost...

Good luck! i'm on the same regimine you are!

you can buy a plastic thing around your stomach so you lose water weight it helps ou

my friends wife
was very large they both are
she was probalbly the size of roseanne

and she bought a exercise bicycle at a tag sale
and i was thinking to myself it was a waste of money
as she would probalbly use it more to store old pizza boxes on--but she rode it 3o minutes a day and lost alot of weight
she left her fat but husband and know is dating some
beach stud---lol

so anyway yes it works the weight will come off---fat comes off evenly throughout your body--target weight loss is not possible---sounds like you are more bloated then anything--ty this for a few days dont eat pasta or anything with wheat in it and i bet the swellign goes down

You just can't target fat loss to any particular area, but exercise will likely do more to tone your body than dieting alone.

yes you can use the bike to tone your legs. if it's got some settings to add resistance, those will definitely help with building some leg muscle. I will also help you burn fat. When I use the elliptical I go at a regular pace for about 3 mins. then at the 4th minute go about 80%-90% speed for as long as I can then back to normal speed.

as far as the mid section I believe you should concentrate on it by doing some regular crunches and side crunches.

Consistency is the most important thing.

there's no such thing as "spot reduction," so NO. BUUUT, if you exercise and diet, it'll help. some people lose weight and gain weight in different areas. for example, when i gain weight, it goes right to my butt, but when i lose, the first place i lose from is my gut.

no. but help to build leg muscles

Pilates, after having my children that's the only way I saw results.

Also, cutting down on late night eating and cut down on carbs.
