When cooked, does fruit lose most of its nutritional benefits?!

Question: it's always better fresh. When you cook it the enzymes break down in the fruit and the nutritional value does go down. However, it is still better for you than cake or pie! :)

depends how you cook it....and yes it does lose some, same with veggies!

ew, why would you cook fruit? :(

yes cooked fruit does loose some of the nutritional benefits

Well, I'm pretty sure Vitamin C degrades to some extent with heat. And although I prefer eating it raw or using a juicing machine to consume it fresh, I've had some ethnic soups that use cooked fruit, and the process does make it easier to chew. There's nothing wrong with cooked fruit, it's just not something we Americans are really accustomed to.
