I used to do 100 pushups every night.. and lifted weights... nothing happening?!


Question: i feel the burn, trust me.. I do pushups, i do 500 sit ups, curls with dumb bells, and curls with the bar... i do calve raises on the stairs... I don't drink cokes... Just water... I play basketball and really run at least 2-3 times a week, and i play hard just cuz im a little guy always playing with taller guys... I have a weight lifting class two days of the week, and let me just say he sucks as a teacher, he teaches a little bit, and i even do those work outs... my chest isn't progressing, i still have pointy man boobs... im not fat but i have small love handles, and small amount of fat under the belly button.... i'm 5'5, 120-130 lbs.. I try going out for a run at the field, or track.. but i have some breathing problems (not asthma), and bad ankles.. "pigeon toed" so they call it.. which is why i can't play sports officially.. i've always loved basketball... I want a nice in shape body though.. What am I doing wrong? I think i have a small upper torso as well...

Workout, and Reduce Calorie Intake.. Drink Water, no cokes.. Cut down on all sweets, and sugars.. Vege's and fruits.. That's all :)

Let me be the first to congratulate you on such a fine workout. Back in my day, I used to do extremely rigorous workouts as well, and I, like yourself, wasn't getting the results I knew I should be getting. The culprit for me was that I listened to music while I worked out. That is the WORST thing you can do. You must focus when working out at all times. Hope I helped.

Too many reps makes you an endurance machine, and your body will go light to make it easier.

To build muscle, you need a few sets with weight that you can't do more than 10 reps. If you're in good shape, you can use a bit more weight and go down to 6-8 reps and burned out, but good form. Let the weight down slow, 4 seconds, that's where the most muscle growth stimulus occurs. Every other day, only

Drink juices, eat fruit, as well as some healthy carbs and protein, there's nutrients that are good for you. You workout too much for your body to be able to gain weight. Take 2 days off each week so your body can rest and grow. Eat more healthy foods. If you are maintaining fatty areas, you are eating too many calories of something.

Eat a small protein and carb meal within 90 minutes of your weight workout.

Being pigeon-toed is actually an advantage in sprinters.

Just keep at it, how long have you been weight training? You need to switch up the work out do a variety of different chest work outs to hit the pecs from all angles. Keep them surprised with all types of work outs to optimize the potential. And if you want to grow more weight by adding on size/muscle you got to eat a lot more than you usually do, do like the 6 meals a day thingy. I'm 5'5' too weigh like 137 and work out daily. Been working out for a year and I put on about 10 pounds but now its hard to gain weight and muscle the diet thing is hard but I have noticed a change in strength and size. basically intensify the work outs extremely for surprise and so your body can't adapt that fast to the exercises.
