Physique or Strength: And How To?!


Question: I've got a great build for either the "strongman" type, or the "body builder" but I'm out of shape, and kinda fat. Which would be better, the "Strongman" form, or a chiseled "bodybuilder" form, and what are good arguments for each body type? And further, what can I do in a very busy life to get my body to that point? I have a two month old son, I work 60 hours a week, etc etc. I already eat pretty healthy, and don't drink soda. Help!

Bottom line: It all depends on your goals. Do you want to look fit, or be super strong? The way you talk, I'm guessing you care more about appearances than being able to carry a car, so I'd go with more of a bodybuilder style of training. A complete fitness plan requires a calorie deficit, sufficient protein intake, hypertrophy training, proper hydration, insulin management and a variety of other factors. You should work on developing strength, do not worry about body type, be more concerned about your health, if you target all body parts and eat well your body will take the shape it's meant to be.

i don't like to exercise much so i came across a book called Power to the People by Pavel Psatsouline. russian strength secrets. he explains how to do just two exercises for strength,the deadlift and the overhead press and how it also can develop a rock hard body(if you eat right) i got the strength but unfortunately i ignored to eating advice. the routine takes less than 30mins a day and is only a few sets of 5reps. there's open secrets that you pretty much have to read to understand but i got Alot stronger and bigger just doing these 2 exercises(plus sometimes curls). probably get a used copy off of amazon fairly cheap.also, you can just look up Pavel for background info on him if you like.///btw,i'm 6',210lbs and i'm going down to about 180 and be ripped and just as strong and all i'm changing is my eating.
