im 5'5 19 and 130 pounds now...

You're burning more calories so your body will naturally want more. You're actually my EXACT height and weight (and a year younger than me), and I'm working to lose some weight too. You need to burn more calories than you eat if you want to lose weight, and say you're eating 1600 calories a day, every day, and your body burns 1800 a day, every day... if you then exercise off 200 calories, you put yourself behind 400 calories instead of just 200, and your body is going to be hungry. Depending on how much exercise you're getting exactly, you should probably add between 100-300 calories to whatever you're eating on the days you're exercising- you'll still lose weight as long as you're not adding so much food that you're eating more than your body can burn. Running's not bad for you at all!

Well don't run so much. Gradually increase how much you run over a long period of time. Your body is probably not used to running so much.

if you're getting hungry, EAT. you aren't even fat.

ever since you started excercising your body started burning calories faster and as a result your body needs more calories. don't starve yourself! you have to eat. studies show that our genes promote what's called a starvation mode, if you deprive yourself of food when you are hungry you'll end up halting your metabolism and stop burning calories as fast.

continue excercising and eating. portions will get bigger and you'll have to eat for effectiveness.

ive been excercising for 6 months now and at the beginning i consumed 800 calories a day now it is 1800.

good luck and work hard.

of course you are hungrier, you are burning alot more calories than you used to. and you are probably burning more than you eat in a day which makes you loose weight. if you spread your meals out to about five a day, every two to three hours that supresses really good. have some eggs in the morning around nine. eat your lunch around twelve. have a snack (fruit, and a dairy) around three. eat your dinner (right portions) around six. have a dessert around 7 or eight (serving size).

@ 5'5" 130 # isn't that bad. When you get hungry, just stick to fruits and vegies for snacks. The only way that running is bad for a healthy person is on your joints. It helps to run on grass or a dirt track rather than the road or concrete.

(Most people do a cardio workout only 3 or 4 times a week. 5 times may be pushing it a bit.)

running is not bad for you...how long are you running for? running too much without building up isnt good for you & can lead to injury. of course it makes you hungry - running for an hour burns nearly 600 calories if not more.
why do u want to suppress it? are you on a diet? if so eat healthy snacks after you work out. make sure to include a protein source..how about a fruit or vegetable & peanut butter =)

Running is not bad for you and your weight is around the running weight range. Do watch out if you have knee problems tho. Running in the morning first thing actually curbs the appetite. Make sure you get in all vitamins, minerals, and even protein shake to supply you with substantial strength. Go for a low carb energy drink before your run and drink freshly squeezed juice. Protein drinks might also help. Pro marathon runners normally consume a big bowl of whole grain the day be4 a race to charge their energy use. In your case, try low carb high fiber grains. Morning is the key! Hope this helps because I am on my second year 20k training.

Your BMI is 21.6, which is in the healthy range. You don't need to lose weight at all, so that's probably why you are so hungry. When you increase your physical activity, you also increase your need for food, because food is fuel for the body. If you really want to lose some weight, keep running, but increase your veggie intake. Spinach is a bulky veggie that is very low in calories so it fills you up without adding a lot of calories.

Trying pacing yourself when you run. Also drink some energy drinks, sometimes dehydration causes muscle soreness. Also, don't start to run 5 times a day until you are able to have enough stamina.

Enjoy!
