Desperately want a six pack 'abs'?!


Question: hey im 15 and want a six pack 'abs' im stocky, i weigh 11 stone which is a bit overweight for my age i am about 5'6.. my dad says that i can build muscle easier than other people my age as they are skinny =S umm yeh so how would i go about doing this? Thanks

I am an 18 year old and I can relate exactly to what you are going through. First of all, do not take steroids, protein shakes or creatine. The truth of the matter is, individuals created those things without knowing the side effects. They can create health risks which are not needed.

For your abs, I have been doing the following for the past 6 months and have seen great results:

For the first month, focus on cardio. That means running, eliptical machines, playing sports. I did it for an average of an hour and a half per day. This allows you to slowly burn the fat. HOWEVER, you must also remember that you are what you eat, and you need to avoid fatty foods. Stick to vegetables, whole wheat breads and remember to eat protein (meats etc.)

After that, continue to perform cardio three to four times a week for approximately an hour. However, at the same time, do various forms of crunches and sit-ups. You MUST also remember that stretching is extremely important. Not only does it relieve stress on muscles, but it also strengthens your core. Doing things such as chin ups, dips and push up, will all help to create a better core for you.

To show off your abs, you need to burn off the layer of fat that is covering them. To do this you need to go on a calorie restricted diet and do a lot of exercise including cardio and sit ups. The layer of fat will not go away by simply doing sit ups and crunches. If you already have a low body fat percentage than doing situps and crunches will help you. Don't go crazy with them. A lot of people go to the gym and fo hundreds of situps and crunches every day. They treat their abs differently from every other muscle in the body. Treat them the same as you would any other muscle and you will see improvements.

The first thing you MUST, MUST, MUST, MUST do is remove your abdominal fat. This is done by dieting correctly (eating low fats, high protein, staying away from junk foods, etc), as well as cardiovascular exercises such as running, jogging and so forth.
