I am trying to cut back on sweets but the house is full of them?!

Question: I am trying to eat healthier and excersize so i can get abs. But the house is full of cookies chips pop and chocolate so i am tempted to eat it. I just had 4 cookies. I can't get rid of it because my rents and bros eat them too. So how can I avoid temptation and not eat and drink those high sugar food and drinks?

If you can't clear the house of them (which you might try getting your bro and parents to cut back, maybe some health info, a mag artical, about it would help everyone could cut back on those unhealthy foods!)

The best way for me is if I just have lots of yummy bit size alternatives ready to snack on. If I just buy apples I won't reach for them...but if I cut up carrots ahead of time, fill celery with peanut butter and have in the fridge, wash grapes and have them in a bowl, buy rassberries to mix into lowfat yogurt, buy those yummy quick peeling little manderine oranges, etc. Some people make themselves a whole veggie tray type thing for the week and just get it out any time they feel like a snack. (add a few crackers, cheese or hummus to it if you are feeling like something more filling) If you are feeling like something salty try pickles or some olives or a handful of nuts.
Also carry little bags of around with you when you go places too so you wont be tempted to buy a candy bar if you get hungry.

Good luck!

thats tough because other people live there. get lo cal alternatives, there are some, i forget who, but there are 100 cal pouches of cookies, crackers, stuff like that.

throw them out anyway, none of you need them?

Ask your parents to remove the temptation or to put them in a spot where you are least likely to find them.

Ask the rest of your family to store their snacks in private areas of the house -- bedrooms, as opposed to keeping them in the kitchen or pantry. If they won't do that, ask them to move the stuff to a high shelf, or behind other items. I say ask them so that YOU won't know where they are. Also, when you go to the store, pick up some healthy snacks that you can have when you feel tempted, like fruit, yogurt, soups. That way you won't feel deprived.

move out? good luck

Tell the other people to keep that stuff in their rooms. THat is what we do in my house. I am diabetic so we keep candy and cookies in my step-son's room. He can eat that stuff whenever he wants. I almost never go in his room so it takes away the temptation for me.
