What happens if you workout too much??!

Question: I jog at least once a day with my dog for about 40 mins. sometimes I go for a walk at night. I also do all kinds of work outs for my abs everyday.
But I've been hearing that you should not workout everyday. Is it ok to workout my abs everyday? Once they start to hurt I stop, I dont push it.
If this is bad..why?

You can run/walk everyday no problem.

For the working out of abs, if you stop when it starts to burn, you can work out every day, because what you're doing is "toning" the muscles. Making them more used to stress, but not making the muscles larger.

If you want them to grow, work out through the burn until you can't bare the pain, then skip a day for the muscles to rest and regenerate. This will -build- the muscles in your midsection.

Abs are the only muscle you can work out everyday.

its ok to workout the way u do! 40 minutes a day is good! but my sister works out for 3 hours and there have been so many bad things happening to her! yes she has lost a ton of weight but her periods have stopped, shes really gassy (which isnt pleasent) and very moddy! so dont let tht happen to u! its ok on what ur doing!

you should not force yourself to exercise everyday, walking moderately is fine.... limit your ab exercise to no more than 4 days a week, that's alternate days

I don't think you're hurting yourself unless you feel pain, discomfort, injury, or frequent unexplainable illness. But you should take 1 day a week off from running.

You can work your abs every day, but rightly so, stop before the hurt begins.
