Is this a dangerous diet?!

Question: Ok.. Well in November I got sick of being called a fat pig and being told I ate too much, so I stoppped. Since then almost every day my total calorie intake has been between 450 and 750. Occasionally I'd go up to 900 or 1000 if I had less than 400 the day before.

Almost every day [about 5 or 6 times a week] I exercise. My routine is:

30 minutes-1 hour of walking

20-30 minutes of Aerobic stair-stepping

20-30 minutes of situps and other toning exercises

Since November 20th, I've gone from 160lbs to 129ish.

I've recently been eating more and more calories [around 1000 a day] and I've been loosing even MORE weight, despite the fact that I'm doing a few minutes less exercise every day.

Most of the foods I eat are fruits and vegetables. I may have a potatoe chip or 2.

Is what I'm doing bad? I plan on having 500 calories today since I had 1150 yesterday.

Thanks in advance!

Anything less than 1500 calories per day is dangerous to your health. The recommended amount of calories for women is 2000. You need to be careful because as soon as you go off this "diet" you're just going to gain back all that weight, and that's WAY worse than never having dieted in the first place. If you want to be healthy, then don't eat fast food, stop drinking soda, and eat plenty of fruits and veggies along with lean meat, fish, and chicken. Drink 8 glasses of water per day and exercise at least 3 times per week for 1 hour each time. Be careful or you're going to develop an eating disorder.

Edit: And by the way, 160 pounds is NOT fat. I don't know who called you a fat pig, but they're utterly retarded unless you're something like 3 feet tall.

The exercise is good...some people would say it's too much, but when you think about it, most proessional athletes train this much in one day so it's fine.

You need to intake some more food, 1000 is definitely better than 450, but I would add 300-500 more calories. And add some lean protein into your diet as well. You are doing toning exercises, but you won't build any muscle as you are not intaking any protein.

Eat some more and you will be fine.

I did the same thing that you are doing because I was sick of people calling me a fat pig as well. So I started exercising and eating about 600 to 900 calories a day. I went from 220 to 149 in a matter of months. One day I freaked out over food and ate so much and got so sick. Now I have an eating disorder. I am a compulsive eater/exerciser. Please dont do this to yourself. Now that you have lost all the weight I suggest that you exercise 4 times a week and eat a balanced meal. Here is a site that will tell you how many calories you need in order to maintain your weight.

A diet as low in calories as this can cause electrolyte imbalance and your heart to beat irregularly. You are also at risk of causing your metabolism to slow down because your body doesn't know you're not stranded on island and it will hold on to what it's got to survive. Eat sensibly. You say you're eating fruits and veggies and that's great. Now add some lean protein and some grains and you'll be doing good.

I used to be anorexic, I ate that much in a weeks time... it was so sickening! Nowadays, I try to eat at least a 1,000 calories everyday since I'm breastfeeding. Don't starve yourself because you don't meet somebody else standards of beauty.

If you keep that up you could DIE! Your exercising TOO much and eating TOO little please stop and get help.

not a good diet at all.
your body needs more than 1200 calories to function properly, otherwise it could get harmful in the long run. i had tried dieting before and i ate 1000 calories a day and it worked, but once i was at the weight i wanted to be, i ended up gaining 6 pounds back because i was so food deprived that i would over eat. it all depends on your height, but i would never eat any less than 1300 calories a day and work out 4 times a week or something. eat healthy foods, but don't deprive yourself of all sweets. eat skinny cow ice cream cones or something as a snack because they are really low-cal and satisfy a sweet tooth. if you keep up with the diet you're at, you could get an eating disorder. or jsut gain all the weight back eventually.

use a calorie calculator to see how many calories would be ideal to eat on a diet

the excersice part of ur diet is fine. doing that much exercise is healthy but you mustnt let ur calorie intake get to below 500. you should be having 1500 calories each day but 1000 calories will be enough if your trying to loose weight. dont just live on fruit and veg because your diet will lack the sugar and good fats you need to produce energy. ive done that diet and believe me, in the long run it doesnt work. once you start to eat more, your body wont be used to the calories and will pile the weight back on. To loose weight, carry on doing your exercises, maybe not all of them, and eat plenty of fruit and veg. also fish is healthy as it doesnt contain alot of calories and is full of omega-3. also you must eat nutrisious meals like pasta. good luck
