I followed these simple guidelines...
*Drink ONLY water
*NO eating inbetween meals
*One dessert per day (Dont know if this applies to you but i LOVE chocolate so it helped)
*"Try" to cut back at meals
...and it helped me ALOT.

As far as exercise you could...
*run/jog
*crunches, crunches, crunches
*jump rope
*basically cardio

wowzerz.
im the same age and im like 115.
anyways, cardio is key (:

you really should have a smaller goals and the most you should lose is about 30 lbs. anyways you would have to work really hard to even do that

Your parents won't even know you're dieting if you do it right, actually. If you eat low calorie foods, you can eat a surprising amount and still be doing well. Also, try going to www.sparkteens.com I use the adult counterpart and it's helped me lose 60 pounds so far.

i don't think you are fat at all. your parents sound like great parents for not allowing you to diet. try snacking on raw carrots and other raw veggies. eat your regular meals in addition to this. the fiber from the veggies helps with digestion, helps fill you up, and makes your skin look great. just don't diet. you could mess up your metabolism. i would focus on a healthy lifestyle. diets don't work.

ps: your age does not determine weight. don't listen to penguin. she is rude.

Interval exercise really helps. If you do cardio at a medium pace then speed up as fast as you can for at least 30 secs then go back to the medium pace then keep repeating this for at least 30 mins it will burn many calories as well as raise your metabolism which in turn will allow your body to burn more calories doing everyday activities..For example you can jog or walk fast for a few min then run as fast as you can for 30 secs and keep repeating...

first of al, you do NOT want to lose 40 pounds. There is no way a person at the height of 5'4 should weigh 100 pounds. You shouldn't even worry about your weight at that age, but I know that isn't the answer you are looking for, so fine. At the ABSOLUTE most, you should be looking to lose 20 pounds. Healthy eating is important, so don't act like you are going on a diet, just eat more nourishing foods. For example, opt for fresh fruit and veggies instead of chips for an after school snack. Your parents won't think you're dieting (and you aren't), they will think you are trying to do your body a favor by eating healthy. As for excersize, if yo really want to lose the weight, you can't be lazy. You might have to run, as much as you don't want to. You have to commit, because weight loss is hard. Cardio gets your heart pumping (running, jumproping, etc.) and burns calories, you have to do it. Even walking counts though, so start at maybe a mile a day and work your way to three. You will be sucessful doing this. Once you lose body fat, you will need to tone muscles. Sit ups, weight, leg lifts, push ups, squats, and stretching will help. Remember, these excersizes do not burn fat like cardio does, so you must do both. Also, yoga and pilates are wonderful. Lastly, I want to tell you that you AREN'T FAT. All people have different frames and heights. You're friends all have different body types. If you are muscular, you are probably thin. Think of it this way. I'm your age, and I'm 75 pounds. I'm also so short I'm practically a freakin midget. I have a teeny frame and no muscle, and would gladly be you. Everyone is different, and the grass is greener on the other side. Please don't worry. If you want to be healthier, that is fine. Just follow what I said and you're golden. I wish you well.
