Well, to improve your leg strength, which should actually help both the jumping and the speed, you should try to run. Try this schedule, and run on a 5 day a week basis.
1: 1 hr jog
2: 10 "100 meter" sprints & 20-30 min jog
3: 45 min jog
4: 6 "1 minute" sprints & 20-30 min jog
5: 1 hr jog
Notice the easy day- hard day rotation. This makes sure your body increases in strength.
I found that when I did cross country, and did this running, it really significantly improved leg strength. It takes time, but if you keep up fairly well, it will do well and improve your endurance as well. Just fit in what you can. Hope this helps!
Work on plyometrics!!
