Why am I still overweight? I excercise and eat right!?!


Question: I'm getting sick of this. I exercise 5 times a week on the elliptical and I eat healthy. I hardly ever eat junk food, I don't even remember the last time I ate cake or chocolate. Everyone keeps making fun of me, and it really hurts my feelings. My husband says that I should drink more water. I'm 22, about 5'6, how much water should I be drinking?

Silly rabbit, please do not feel disheartened. You need to persist and not give up. I too was trying to lose weight that I had gained and I was exercising and eating right and for a while I was not seeing results. Then, all of a sudden I started losing the weight.
Remember the formula which kept me focused on a specific target:
To lose (at least) one pound per week, you need to burn 3500 more calories per week than you take in. You can do this through a combination of cutting 250 calories from your daily intake and burning 250 calories through exercise. ( or any combination that suits you)

Maybe you should get your thyroid checked.

Yeah, Drink water everyday. Sometimes people can't lose or gain weight, it all depends on your metabolism.

You should drink about 8 glasses (or 64 ounces) of water per day. That's about one big soda bottle worth. How long do you exercise on your elliptical? You should try for at least 30 minutes to an hour, and you need to keep your heart rate up while doing it. When eating, try to cut out things like cheese, salad dressing (ranch dressing), and try to eat more fish and chicken rather than beef or pork. And for the people that make fun of you, flip them off and tell them to go get bent.

Edit: Like the first person said, you also may want to get your thyroid checked by your doctor. This can cause people to stay overweight.

your suppost to drink 2 litres or water a day (or 4 water bottles).

well you didn't say what your weight was, but I'm guessing that you need to boost your exercise up some. exercise for a half hour more each day, and kick it up to every other week exercising every single day. you should be drinking 8-10 glasses of water, try only drinking water with your meals as it fills you up more then caloric drinks.

everyone has their own tendency on loosing weight
it took me 6 months to lose 15 kgs. even though i played tennis from 9 to 1 everyday.

dont worry
though water will help
drink lemon squeezed in warm water every morning
without sugar. it tastes yuck but it helps a lot to lose weight.
half a glass of this everyday is enough.

You should be drinking about 8 glasses a day, to be healthy. It's not your fault if you are doing all this and are still overweight. you may just have a slow metabolismor a thyroid problem. And about the people who make fun of you, tell them to shut up. How hard is it to see that you are doing your best to be skinny, that you are self concious of your body and its awful to talk to you like that?

well i can't see your picture, so i can't answer this

I can understand you sisie, keep doing excersise always, i think you've just started doing excersise, so it will take some time to give you a good result.
You should continue doing excersise for around 2-3 month to reduce your weight, its difficult to reduce wieght by one day itself... lol

Anyways sisie, if you dont mind ill tell you a good way of doing excersise...
Just try this, its the best way to lose weight quickly...

Bend your body & try to touch your feet around 5 times without folding your knee as much as posible.
Lay down on the floor, lay straight, & try to bend yourself to touch your foot.
Run in one place for around 20 minutes a day
Dance and make your body move allot
And try doing pushups as mush as you can...

And also dont forget to drink some plain tea with some few drops of fresh lime juice added in it before or after having your food everyday, this is the basic remedy of losing weight.

And mainly you should try to controll yourself while eating food, if you cannot controll drink allot of water before you eat.
