Sauna/Steamroom?!

Question: why do you have to be over a certain age to go into a sauna/steam room?

Answers: why do you have to be over a certain age to go into a sauna/steam room?

My first guess is because a person can dehydrate rather quickly and someone has to be old enough to accept the consequences of using a steam room.

My second guess is that many saunas are an adult oriented atmosphere that children should not be a part of.

Sauna dude ! but be careful with it.
It can be very dangerous

because young people have delicate skin

At the swimming center where i work we have a strict over 16s only age, and you will find that with most places. its really just to make sure no one messes around an could get hurt.

Because some people go in nude.

Kids don't want/need to see that sorta thing.

because children feel the need to try and prove there all grown up and hard, so they over do it, and faint, that's why kiddy winks arnt let in, it'll be something to look forward to

I think it must be a Health and Safety issue. As it is quite east to faint if you are not used to the heat. But that applies to everyone.Probably just covering themselves by enforcing this rule.
